Week 6 Part A: Engaging Your Customers - FaceBook Strategy
As I conducted my assignment this week, I really thought about which companies I could learn from and engage with. I thought about the companies that would appeal to my target audience and pages or companies that would work in the Finance and Accounting and business industry.
Below are the summaries for each company page I liked;
1.
Bloomberg - https://www.facebook.com/bloombergbusiness
For me this was an obvious one. Bloomberg Television is an
American-based pay television network centered towards business and capital
market programming. It is distributed globally, reaching over 310 million homes
worldwide. They provide the latest up to date information around current
affairs and they are highly engaging with their followers by posting several
times a day on Facebook and other social media platforms.
2.
LinkedIn - https://www.facebook.com/LinkedInUK
LinkedIn is an American business and employment-oriented
online service that operates via websites and mobile apps. Launched on May 5,
2003, the platform is primarily used for professional networking and career development
and allows job seekers to post their CVs and employers to post jobs. This is a
great business for me to connect with and they constantly provide thought provoking
posts around employment and recruitment for both the client and candidate.
3.
Harvard Business Review - https://www.facebook.com/HBR
Harvard Business Review is a general management magazine
published by Harvard Business Publishing, a wholly owned subsidiary of Harvard
University. HBR is published six times a year and is headquartered in Brighton,
Massachusetts. Their Facebook page posts the best ideas in business and
management to help people, organizations, and economies work better. They post
engaging posts on a regular basis and attract customers from all around the globe.
4.
Forbes - https://www.facebook.com/forbes
Forbes is an American business magazine owned by Integrated
Whale Media Investments and the Forbes family. Published eight times a year, it
features original articles on finance, industry, investing, and marketing
topics. They have also have a ‘Forbes 30 Under 30’ list of people under 30
years old issued annually by Forbes magazine. The American lists recognize 600
business and industry figures, with 30 selected in twenty industries each. They
post engaging posts and also have other interesting lists of business owners
worldwide.
5.
Shark Tank - https://www.facebook.com/SharkTank
This page is slightly different to the others. Shark Tank is
a TV show with a panel of potential investors that listen to entrepreneurs
pitch ideas for a business or product they wish to develop. It has thirteen
seasons and has seen many budding entrepreneurs go on and achieve their dream
businesses. They post regularly on their social media accounts by using videos
from the show, videos from the Sharks and budding entrepreneurs.
6.
Nasdaq - https://www.facebook.com/Nasdaq
This is a slightly more corporate page than any of the
others but still extremely relevant and interesting. The Nasdaq Stock Market is
an American stock exchange based in New York City. It is ranked second on the
list of stock exchanges by market capitalization of shares traded, behind the
New York Stock Exchange. The Nasdaq posts several times a day by using images,
videos and even facebook live.
7.
Yahoo Finance - https://www.facebook.com/yahoofinance
My final business I liked on Facebook was Yahoo! Finance.
They are a media property that is part of the Yahoo! network. It provides
financial news, data and commentary including stock quotes, press releases,
financial reports, and original content. It also offers some online tools for
personal finance management which I feel is extremely relevant for my target audience.
They post around once an hour on Facebook and posts range from anything from
politics to business to the workplace. Yahoo Finance seems to post many
clickbait articles which surprised me.
I hope you liked the list of the businesses! Enjoy!
