Week 16 Part A: Developing Your Marketing Strategy

For this post, I will be compiling all the information I have researched and learned from this semester. I don't believe my opinions have changed on which platform suits my business best, but I really enjoyed learning more about what each platform could bring to my business.

The most useful platforms for my business would be LinkedIn, FaceBook and Instagram. Twitter was mentioned a lot over this semester, but in all honesty, the time could be best used going into other forms of generating sales, so I decided to concentrate on the three I mentioned.

LinkedIn is a perfect platform for my business and the type of candidates and clients I would be looking to work with. The platform is primarily used for professional networking and career development, and allows job seekers to post their CVs and employers to post jobs and this is exactly my target audience. You are able to connect with people directly, follow business pages, create thoughtful posts and you can also hashtag which i think is a great tool we discussed this semester to reach a wider audience. I think this platform is a great social networking site for my business and I'm super excited to build my network and expand my business when it comes to life.

Facebook and Instagram would be great social media platforms for me to use, but for a slightly different reason. I don't think a lot of time would be used on these sites, but i have definitely learned it is important to post regularly and to also make sure the brand is consistent across all social media platforms. I like this idea and I also think the automated tool for posts is a great feature and a really efficient way to utilize time whilst still being able to try and reach a wider/different type of audience. For example, once a month, I could set posts and stories to be posted on the sites and have them ready to go without needing to do them once a week for example.

The platforms I really enjoyed using was actually Instagram, but i wonder if this is because i am used to this platform the most? I don't use LinkedIn or Facebook, so it might be that i just prefer Instagram in general, but I also like that it is slightly more creative than LinkedIn and Facebook, which also allows me to showcase my brand slightly more. However, I don't believe this or Facebook will be my main marketing focus, and the majority of my marketing will be done via LinkedIn as this platform is full of my ideal target audience, so this makes sense for me to focus here and utilize these tools as much as possible.

Overall i think these three platforms certainly give me something to think about and especially after researching the analytics on Facebook and google last week. Its an interesting world and i really enjoyed researching what would be best for me and my business going forward.
